Italian Dolomites

4th September to 14th September 2008 (10 nights)
4 nights bed & breakfast, 4 nights half-board, 2 nights overnight crossing

One of the highlights of our Alpina tour last year was our stay in the Italian Dolomites, a spectacular range of mountains blessed with miles of awesome biking roads and absolute jaw-dropping scenery… everytime we pass through this part of the world it’s the same question…Why don’t you have a Dolomites tour?…well folks, here it is!

In order to get to our chosen destination, after an overnight crossing we travel across central Europe passing through Belgium, Luxembourg to spend a night in the Mosel region of Germany before moving on to Bavaria. After another night’s rest we enter Italy by way of the high Timmelsjoch pass for a 4 night stay at our 4**** luxury mountain hotel complete with indoor swimming pool, sauna and steamroom.

Our chosen base in the Italian Dolomites is located in an idyllic village and is ideally placed for riding such as the ‘Great Dolomite Road’ taking you over the Pardoi and Falzagero passes and through to Cortina – just one of many spectacular ride-outs through this impressive mountain range.

You can bet your bottom dollar that we won't be alone - this is biking country with a capital 'B' - more twists and turns than you could throw a stick at! Even the local bikers can't get enough of this place!

In the evening we enjoy 4 course evening meals, no doubt washed down with a few drinks, as we share tall tales of how we would have got our knee down on that hairpin… but the wife wouldn’t let us!

Important Notes:

On this particular tour, the main party will leave from Hull taking an overnight crossing. The Dover - Calais* ferry route is available as priced above. Please note, if you choose to depart from Dover you will make your own way to the first hotel to meet up with the main group. This Dover crossing will be booked for the morning of the following day (i.e. Fri 5th Sept 2008), with the return from Calais booked for the afternoon of the 13th Sept 2008. This effectively shortens the duration to 8 nights as you have no overnight crossings. *PLEASE NOTE THIS ON THE BOOKING FORM OR IT WILL BE ASSUMED THAT YOU WISH TO TRAVEL WITH THE MAIN PARTY.
